Hello Money – New Mobile Banking Service By Barclays India

Now Indian customers of Barclays bank can easily access banking services Barclaysanytime, anywhere on the move.

Barclays India has rolled out a mobile banking service, called ‘Hello Money’ that enable clients to make banking transactions from their cell phones.

‘Hello Money’ is very easy to use and unique service, which is based on the Unstructured Supplementary Service Date (USSD) platform and more dependable and faster as compared to the existing platforms such as text-messaging and GRPS.

The service, ‘Hello Money’, will enable customers to make account enquiries and financial transactions including fund transfers, bill payments, requests and other banking transactions.

While lecturing at the launch, Barclays global retail & commercial banking (GRCB) MD, India and Indian Ocean, Samir Bhatia said, “Barclays Hello Money is about anytime/anywhere access to Barclays for its customers. This service is unique as it has a vast potential with appeal across all segments, taking banking to the unbanked population of over 184 million people in the country. It is for the first time that banking services are available in such a convenient and cost effective manner, turning a GSM mobile handset into a bank for its user. Barclays has always taken pride in introducing innovative propositions like this. I am happy to say, Barclays is pioneering for others to follow.”

At a monthly cost of Rs 30, Hello Money is available on all GSM phones on Airtel, Vodafone and Idea network in 40 cities. The customers can easily access the newly launched service by dialing *598*1# on their cell phones. The users also have the option of choosing English or Hindi as the language for the menus.

The bank will soon add more languages and expand it to CDMA handsets in the coming months.
