Another important decision at the meeting was the acceptance of resignation of Ric Charlesworth as technical advisor to Indian hockey.

Ms Vriesman said that the official confirmation of these changes will be done in the IOA general assembly in the November. She added that world cup will be a joint venture between IOA and FIH. The profit from the world cup would spend on improvement of the game.

She added,  “FIH has also decided in principle to host the men’s Champions Trophy in 2011 or 2012 in India subject to sponsorship and other arrangements and that a women’s tournament will be held in India in the next few years.”
