Hong Kong stocks fall 3 per cent as regional markets tumble

Hong Kong - Hong Kong shares fell by nearly 3 per cent Tuesday as regional markets tumbled following heavy overnight losses on Wall Street.
The blue-chip Hang Seng Index lost 465.02 points, or 2.95 per cent, to end the day at 15,285.89 points. Turnover was 57.5 billion Hong Kong dollars (7.4 billion US dollars).
Heavyweight stocks HSBC and China Mobile led the declines in Tuesday trading which saw the market close down 3.7 per cent at midday, before regaining some ground in the afternoon session. (dpa)
