How garlic and broccoli help fight cancer

garlic and broccoli help fight cancerWashington, Nov 25 : A new study has revealed that selenium compound that is naturally found in garlic and broccoli boosts immune system to fight against cancer.

Researchers from the University of Copenhagen found that certain selenium compounds effectively block the special immunostimulatory molecule that plays a serious role for aggressive cancers such as melanoma, prostate cancer and certain types of leukaemia.

Professor Soren Skov said that stimulating molecules over-activate the immune system and cause it to collapse, and they are interested in blocking this mechanism.

The study was published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry. (ANI)
