HTC Ties Up With RCom; Rolls Out ‘HTC P3000’ and ‘HTC S720’ In India

In order to endorse next generation CDMA devices in the Indian market, Reliance Communicationsleading smartphone devices maker HTC Corporation, has signed up a strategic alliance with Reliance Communications, India’s biggest mobile telecommunications service provider.

The recent declaration marks HTC’s entry in Indian’s strong-growing CDMA market segment. The deal will also permit RCom to provide a broad variety of excellent PDA (personal digital assistant) devices on the CDMA platform for its high-end data usage clients.

Taking the first step forward under the coalition, both the companies have launched two new window-based smart devices -‘HTC P3000’ and ‘HTC S720’ in the Indian market.

Reliance Communications Presiden S. P. Shukla said, “A future-proof, top-of-the-line integrated telecom network, enabling a diverse suite of feature rich voice, data and video applications for millions of Indian consumers, is the key idea behind inception of Reliance Communications.”

“The alliance with HTC is in line with our strategic intent to provide high-end devices empowering Reliance customers to access email, Internet and data applications on the move. HTC’s technological edge and Reliance’s in-depth consumer insights would enable us to continuously offer top-of-the-line handsets catering to emerging market trends in the Indian telecom landscape,” Mr. Shukla added.

Under the grouping, HTC handsets will be completely provided for Reliance Communications network.

HTC has already launched 9 mobile handsets in India, and plans to roll out more models on the RCom network.

The newly launched handsets features high data speeds, strong email and voice potentiality. Both the mobile phones run on Windows Mobile 6 OS. The HTC P3000 is specifically designed for the high-end internet users, whereas HTC S720 is intended for the high SMS and email users.

The black-colored HTC P3000 black phone and the grey HTC S720, both have a 2MP camera and can access PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.

The suggested retail prices for the phones are - Rs 16,500/- for the HTC P3000 and Rs. 19,500/- for the HTC S720 respectively.
