Hussey under scanner, needs to score big at Oval

Michael HusseyLondon, Aug 23 : Australian batsman Michael Hussey needs to play the innings of his life to prevent England from claiming the Ashes at The Oval and prevent his axing from the squad.

The selectors appear to be running out of patience with the prolific-scoring left-hander, who has been struggling with his form.

Hussey has scored runs easily enough in the tour games and looked in good nick when he scored two half-centuries earlier in the series at Lord''s and Edgbaston. But, he seems to have lost awareness of his off-stump, having been bowled shouldering arms on two occasions, The Age reports.

Out of form, Hussey, has a meager average to boast of. He has scored 155 runs at 22.15 in this Ashes series and 477 runs at 22.71 in his past three Tests.

Australian selectors have backed him citing his phenomenal opening three years in the Test arena. (ANI)
