India, Booming Country for Mobile Companies
The telecom industries in India are doing much better in any other country. An official data has revealed that in India there are about 851.7 million mobile phone subscribers. Moreover, in the month of June about 11.41 million new subscribers joined a connection.
The data was released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) which said that in India the wireless user base grew 1.36 percent, from 840.28 million in May. However, it has come to light that few urban subscribers withdrew themselves while many more rural subscribers added in the month of May.
It has come to light that the Bharti Airtel has the highest connection in the country. Recently about 2.12 million new users added to it making its users to 169.19 million. Next to Airtel stands Reliance Communications which has 143.27 million users. Vodafone, Idea Cellor and Uninor have about 141.5 million, 95.1 million and 26.33 million subscribers.
Besides, it has also been revealed that the demand of broadband has also become a subject of attraction. As per the data, in the month of June 2011, the broadband subscriber base grew 1.64% from 12.12 million. However, the wire line segment declined marginally from 34.4 million in May to 34.29 million at the end of June.
