India experiences a climb in number of patients suffering from Kidney failuresKidney failures are becoming popular in India and thus elevating the number of patients suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD). It has been observed that majority of patients reach the end stage of potential renal failure. Once kidney reaches its final stage of functioning which is called end stage renal disease (ESRD), a transplant is the only reliable option left.

One can also choose another option of dialysis which is also called as artificial kidney, but it is recommended that patient should opt the first option of transplant because it relieves the patient from dialysis and helps him to regain his health. This therapy is too expensive and can cost around 3, 00,000 a year so various facilities are introduced to make the dialysis either free or available at highly subsidized rates.

Recently, a new study discovered that simple medical protocol can delay the persons affected from kidney disease to reach the final stage of kidney failure. Nephrologist, M. Krishna Mani said that people suffering with chronic kidney disease can be granted a life extension by the use of new protocol. He said that life extended by the treatment can be up to 17 yrs.
