Tehran - The Iranian Interior Ministry announced that polling in Iran's presidential election would be kept open through midnight local time (1930 GMT), amid ongoing heavy voter turnout, state television reported.

According to a personal order by the interior minister, the polling stations should remain open until all voters have had a chance to cast their ballot. However, the maximum time limit would be midnight.(dpa)
