IT giant iGate announces major rejigNasdaq-listed information technology (IT) services provider iGate has announced a major restructuring plan, which will give vertical heads more freedom and responsibilities.

Ashok Vemuri, the newly-appointed president & chief executive officer of iGate, said that the plan would give the company a vertical-led arrangement based on industries and geographies.

Each of the company's vertical in North America, which accounts for nearly 80 per cent of its overall revenues, will get their separate heads, and have their own consulting, sales and delivery functions.

Over a video conference from New Jersey, Vemuri said, "These business heads have been selected after a fairly stringent round of discussions .. They will be true business heads who will run their own P&L, they will have delivery, consulting and sales all rolled into one single vertical."

Verticals in the North American region will be based on business segments like banking, financial services, manufacturing, retail and insurance.

However, geographies outside the North America region, such as Europe, will continue operating without business-verticals because these regions have small scale of operations.

Vemuri, a former executive Indian IT services firm Infosys, had joined iGate in September this year.
