'Kites' Ready For A Record Breaking Opening Of 2010

'Kites' Ready For A Record Breaking Opening Of 2010Rakesh Roshan's much-awaited flick 'Kites' which is due to open in theatres today (May 21) is likely to have a massive impact with the biggest opening of the year so far.

The releasing of Hrithik starrer is a big affair in itself, just as is in case of Mr. Perfectionist's (Aamir Khan) films.

Junior Roshan's last full fledged appearance was in megahit 'Jodhaa Akbar' that hit screens in 2008 though he did have an extended guest appearance in 'Luck By Chance' a year back.

Now, this is the time for his buffs to see him in all his grandeur and the kind of promotional built up which this film has seen over last one year.

There are hopes that Anurag Basu directed flick will see at least 80% opening.

Still, there is some doubt that one has around how 'Kites' will stay on from Monday onwards. While the opening weekend belongs to the actor and the promotion, the weekdays belong to the film.

Because of continuous hearsays around argue between Roshans and Basu, one thinks if the final product would have been impacted by any means.

In the past, there have been movies, which have seen a total blackout after a hefty weekend owing to problems between two makers.

A big example is 'Trimurti' that had the best opening ever of those times but failed once people found out that partnership of Subhash Ghai and Mukul S Anand with coming together of big stars like SRK, Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff hadn't delivered expected results.

That's why one gets a little anxious about how 'Kites' would continue to fly from Monday onwards. For Bollywood's sake though, one prays that 'Kites' doesn't turn out to be 21st century 'Trimurti'. (With Inputs from Agencies)
