Kovac leaves Borussia Dortmund, joins Dinamo Zagreb

Croatia FootballZagreb- Croatian defender Robert Kovac has signed a contract with Dinamo Zagreb and would join his new teammates in camp in Turkey, his new club said Thursday.

Kovac, 35, was quoted as saying that he was unhappy with his previous team, Borussia Dortmund. His contract runs until 2010, Dinamo said, without announcing other details, such as the pay to Kovac and compensation to Borussia.

Kovac quit international football in 2008, after eight years of playing for Croatia. On the European club scene, he also played for Hertha Berlin, Nuremberg, Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich and Juventus Turin. (dpa)
