Latest austerity measures dividing Greece

Greece-UNA poll depicted that the Greeks are no more united over the latest austerity measures of the government. The people of Greece are having different opinions on the Government's deficit-cutting efforts. The poll was conducted by Kapa Research, on 1,044 people and the survey results were posted in the Vima newspaper.

The report suggests that 46.6% people have faith on Government policies while 47.9% have voted against it.

Earlier, Greece has announced a new 4.8 billion euro package for the country. Apart from that the Government has decided to cut bonus and pensions of the civil servants. There will be a tax hike to reduce the huge fiscal deficit of the nation. But economists believe that the decision came under the pressure created by the European Union and the financial market.

Later, the European leaders have expressed that the new austerity measures would bring a positive result for the country. They have also anticipated that Greece could come out of the debt crisis without the help of any bailout package.
