Looking forward to GST for smoother cost cutting mechanisms, says VP Kirloskar

New Delhi [India], Feb. 21 : The most anticipated Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill, which is most likely to be a game-changer in terms of cost cutting will provide leverage to implement cost cutting mechanisms, thus paving way for consumers to avail Gensets at lower costs, said Sanjeev Nimkar, Vice President, Business Head Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd., at the launch of their new range of High Horsepower (HHP) Gensets.

"Rather than the Union Budget 2017-18, we are looking forward to GST, as we believe it will help in increasing accessibility of our products to consumers at lower cost," said Sanjeev Nimkar in an interview to ANI here today.

KOEL Green, the Genset brand of Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd., launched a new range of HHP gensets, marking its achievement of installing over 30,000 HHP Gensets in India.

Spearheaded by SL90 and DV series, this new range of Gensets comes with enhanced performance capabilities, keeping affordability intact.

The new range comprises of state-of-the-art technology which enables the operation of Gensets which are 10 percent more fuel-efficient than its contemporaries. Additionally, the design has been engineered in such a way that not much space is occupied after installation. In terms of monitoring the functioning of the device, the management revealed that the built-in technology enables the consumer to monitor performance through their mobile phones or website.

The device comes with a chip which helps consumers in constantly supervising the device. Nimkar further revealed that any error in the machine gets flashed as a text message to the consumer as well as the head office for customer service, enabling timely service availability to fix the glitch.

"Our service centers are placed in such a manner that there is one service center in every 50kilometres of the country. We have a helpline number that functions 24 x 7 and 6,000 trained engineers on ground so that consumers can have a smooth experience," claimed Nimkar.

A power back-up of 7,500 GW has been provided by KOEL alone. Clients are spread across IT, hospitality and the commercial segment. "Currently, our export operations are headed from the office in UAE. We also have offices in Kenya, Johannesburg, Houston, and so on. We are looking to further expand our market in Europe as well," added R.R. Deshpande, Joint M.D., Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd. (ANI)
