Hong Kong  - A lovers' tiff ended in tragedy in Hong Kong after the woman ran out into the road and was killed by a truck, a news report said Friday.

Young Pin-pin was quarrelling with her boyfriend on a pavement Thursday afternoon when she suddenly dashed out into the road in front of the truck.

The 33-year-old suffered serious head injuries and was declared dead at hospital.

Her boyfriend, 34, was led away in tears from the scene by police officers, said a report in the South China Morning Post.

Police confirmed Friday the driver of the truck had been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death and was later released on bail (dpa)
