Man accused of running over "Westernized" daughter
Los Angeles - Police in Arizona police are hunting for a man who allegedly ran over his adult daughter because he believed she had become "too Westernized," the Arizona Republic reported Wednesday.
The suspect was identified as Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, a man of Iraqi descent. Police in Peoria, Arizona, said he ran her and a friend over in the parking lot of an office building.
Police investigators were told that the man had made threats against his daughter, Noor Faleh Almaleki, 20, because she was not living according to his traditional values. His daughter was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, while Amal Edan Khalaf suffered less serious injuries but was also hospitalized. (dpa)
