Manudev upsets Manan in NSSC

Manan ChandraThe Karnataka boy IH Manudev has upset the second seeded Delhi's Manan Chandra in the men's National Senior Snooker Championship on Tuesday. In another match Dhruv Sitwala survived from a scare of Railway cueist Hemant Kumar.

The unseeded Manudev went past Chandra of PSPB in straight frames by 27-82, 39-55, 55-67 in a Group B match.

In another neck-to-neck match, PSPB’s Sitwala ousted Hemant 1-65, 46-58, 55-08, 63-45, 83(62)-11. Sitwala outplayed Goa's Nicholas D'Souza (3-0) 71-11, 62-22, 67-18 in second match later in the day.

Meanwhile, National Billiards champion Pankaj Advani registered an easy win against Haryana's Divya Sharma in straight frames by 74-28, 79-16, 83-09. Geet Sethi, National Billiards champion runner-up, raced away with the match against Chandigarh boy Sandeep Duggal 74-2, 59-10, 72-16.

The Asian gold medalist Ashok Shandilya also registered victory in both matches after defeating Kerala boy Akhil Jhonson 71-35, 79-12, 64-27 and Shyam Jagtiani 97-04, 46-58, 89-31, 60-39 in back to back matches.

PSPB's Rupesh Shah beat Orissa's Jeet Kishore Das by 35-67, 74-26, 74-21, 81-20 after going down into the first frame while Saurav Kothari outclassed Madhya Pradesh's Rahul Agarwal 66-29, 73-34, 78-29.
