Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin has announced that they have awarded new contract to the Metro Rail Limited. The company will construct the underground works and tunnels at Meenambakkam metro rail station as well. Mr. Stalin has informed this fact to the reporters on Friday after the inspection of the ongoing Metro works.

Metro Rail Limited has received the contract to design and construct the underground stations at Washermenpet, Mannadi, High Court, Central and Egmore.

Trans Tonnel StoryAf Conf JV has also received the contract to construct the associated tunnels. The cost of construction of these associated tunnels will be around Rs 1,566.81 crore, which the company has received from the government.

The company has also managed to receive another tender in which they will construct the underground stations at Shenoy Nagar, Anna Nagar, Anna Nagar Tower and Thirumangalam. They have also received a payment of Rs 1,030.99 crore towards the total cost of this work.

Metro Tunneling Chennai L TSUCG JV has got the order for the construction of underground stations at Nehru Park, Kilpauk Medical College and Pachiappa's college. They have received Rs 705.75 crore for the construction of the same.
