My Mom's New Boyfriend: Movie Review!

My Mom's New Boyfriend: Movie Review! If you are really passionate about Meg Ryan’s flicks including ‘Kate and Leopald,’ ‘When Harry Met Sally’ and ‘You’ve Got Mail,’ then there are chances that her newly released comedy film ‘My Mom’s New Boyfriend’ will leave you frustrated.

Meg failed to impress her buffs with ‘My Mom’s New Boyfriend’ as it is in no way as good as to those joyful romantic comedy movies for which she is known.

‘My Mom’s New Boyfriend’ is really a substandard tale regarding an obese bundle of nerves i.e. Martha (Meg Ryan) who, one fine day, makes a decision to recreate herself when her a straight-laced FBI agent son Henry (Colin Hanks) goes on a mission.

After three years when Henry comes back home from an undercover mission to find that his mom has not only lost lots of weight, but she’s also transformed into something of a raving sexual lunatic. But that’s not all, his mother is dating boys half his age.

Well, Henry’s problems do not finish here as his bride-to-be, Emily (Selma Blair), also gets along fantastically with his mother.

There’s a twist in the story with the entrance of mysterious stranger Tommy (Antonio Banderas), who gets romantically involved with his mother.

What follows are a series of tasteless jokes involving Henry's revulsion at having to bug his mother's bedroom and to listen quietly her personal talks with Tommy.

Henry makes a decision to keep watch on his mother and from here onwards; ‘My Mom’s New Boyfriend’ turns into slapstick romantic comedy, which greatly needs a good plot.

For Ryan fans, ‘My Mom’s New Boyfriend’ will be a big disillusionment.

In spite of her great attempts, one can barely hook up with Meg’s character. With a sloppy character sketch, ‘My Mom’s New Boyfriend’ is a film, which lacks everything.

Martha’s relations with both Henry and Emily is budding, in actual fact, Emily just finishes up being a prop in the film.

In case of Tommy, he barely arrests your mind's eye. The Italian chef played by Enrico Colantoni is the only saving beauty in the movie that leaves you in splits with his serenading work with Martha.

‘My Mom’s New Boyfriend’ gets pitifully funny when poor Henry is coming to terms with his mom’s newfound sex drive.

Overall, ‘My Mom’s New Boyfriend’ is a unmemorable comedy.
