Mystery surrounds ISI chief’s top US officials snub

Islamabad, Apr. 8 : Pakistan Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lieutenant General Ahmad Shuja Pasha, reportedly refused to meet the US Special Envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke and the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Michael Mullen.

According to sources, Lt. General Pasha decided not to meet the top US officials in protest against allegations leveled by Washington against ISI the in recent times.

The Director General of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Athar Abbas, however, refuted report.

The News quoted him as saying that Lt. General Pasha was present at the meeting between Army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and the US officials.

The US has expressed concern over the ISI's link with outlawed terror groups and also charged the intelligence agency with offering help to terrorists against US led allied forces in Afghanistan. (ANI)
