Nikkei extends losses on Toyota earnings forecastTokyo - The Tokyo market extended its recent losses Friday after Toyota Motor Corp announced a sharp cut in it earnings forecast for the current fiscal year.

The Nikkei 225 Stock Average fell 386.85 points, or 4.35 per cent, to end the morning session at 8,512.29.

The broader Topix index of all first-section issues was also down 36.86 points, or 4.05 per cent, at 872.44.

Toyota on Thursday lowered its operating income projection to 600 billion yen (6 billion dollars) for the year that ends March 31, down 73.6 per cent from the previous year.

On currency markets at 9 am (0000 GMT), the dollar was quoted at 97.27-32 yen, down from Thursday's 5 pm quote of 97.90-93 yen.

The euro was quoted at 1.2690-95 dollars, down from Thursday's 5 pm quote of 1.2860-63 dollars, and at 123.42-52 yen, down from 125.92-96 yen. (dpa)
