No case of swine flu in the state: Himachal Govt

swine flu The government of Himachal Pradesh on Monday said that till now no case of swine flu has been reported in the state.

However, the state government assured that all precautionary measures were being taken by the health authorities in the state.

A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of state health minister Rajeev Bindal in Shimla to discuss preparations to fight the menace.

Speaking on the precautionary measures, Bindal said that the hill state has decided to make available protective gear like N-95 masks in all district hospitals.

He said that the isolation wards have been set up and arrangements of separate beds for treatment of H1N1 patients have been made at the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla and all district hospitals.

The minister also said that Tami flu tablets in sufficient numbers were being made available across the state.

The state government has also asked the Union government to provide swine flu testing facilities at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College and Hospital.

Bindal also informed the media-persons that testing facilities for swine flu would be made available within a week at CRI Kasauli by the Indian government.
