3G Users In China To Reach 15 Million By 2011According to reports, the number of 3G mobile telecommunication users in China has hit 18.08 million during the last month.

Zhu Jun, deputy director of the telecom development department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), stated that China Mobile got the biggest 3G market share, which stood at 42.5%, accompanied by China Telecom at 30.8% and China Unicom at 26.7%.

Xin Guobin, director of the ministry's Performance Inspection and Coordination Bureau said that the three telecom operators invested around 6 billion yuan in 3G network building during the first three months, out of the total 95 billion yuan projected for the year.

Previously, the ministry said that China eyes 150 million 3G mobile telecom users by the coming year when investment in 3G growth would reach 400 billion yuan.

The Internet industry in China had been flourishing and strengthening social and economic growth. China had 191 million subscribers to the country's social networking sites in March.
