Time to ditch Windows XP-Says Gartner
Microsoft has announced that it has decided to withdraw its security updates for Windows XP and paid support. The research firm Gartner has issued a warning to the business organizations worldwide to exchange their OS, Windows XP.
As per Gartner, the users should refresh their operating system with some new updates. Gartner is an information technology research and advisory firm. It provides advice to the firms on technology related insights.
Recently it has been reported that, the research firm has advised the IT companies to exchange the over aged OS Windows XP with the new and advance Windows 7 in next two years.
However, as per a report Microsoft has decided to continue support Windows XP till April, 2014. But the main area of concern is some of the new versions of applications will not support this OS.
The vice president and analyst at Gartner, Michael Silver has informed that various survey results inform that Windows XP is getting older and it needs to be updated as soon as possible. Around 80% of the respondents have said that they are going to migrate to the updated version soon.
