Tata Tech to float Initial Public Offer by 2008

David Myers, INCAT’s chief financial officer has stated that Tata Technologies will go for an IPO in the coming year (2008) in order to pay off arrears and fund expansion plans.

Tata Technologies, the specialist engineering and design company of the Tata Group had acquired INCAT, the UK-based engineering and design company in 2005 for 53.40 million pounds.

A senior commission functionary has stated that the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) will establish 16 more ‘Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries’ centres in the rustic areas, comprising three centres in Maharashtra,.

J S Mishra, KVIC CEO, said in Maharashtra, the centres would be established at Nanded in the Marathwada, Sindhudurg in Konkan and Bhadravati in the Vidarbha. This will raise the total number of KVIC centres to 95.

USFDA Approves Sanofi’s ‘Taxotere’ For Head, Neck Cancer

Paris: Sanofi-Aventis, French pharmaceutical group has annunciated that the U.S. health officials have approved another application of its anti-cancer drug ‘Taxotere.’

The company said that the drug has been sanctioned to treat locally advanced head and neck cancer before chemo-radiotherapy and surgical treatment.

The approval is based on the outcomes of a phase III clinical examination, which showed that adding up Taxotere to typical induction chemotherapy resulted in a more than three year betterment in patient endurance rate.

London, October 3: Laboratory experiments conducted at the University of Leicester have shown that compounds extracted from sticky rice, red wine, berries, and spice have the potential to fight against cancer.

Professor Will Steward, an expert in molecular medicine, has revealed that tests on human cells have shown that drugs made from the foods and wine may reduce the risk of cancer by 40 per cent.

The researcher said that such drugs could be taken like daily vitamins to protect against tumours in the breast, bowel and prostate.
