Computing giant, Hewlett Packard (HP) has announced the launch of its new HP Elitepad 900 business tablet in the growing Nigerian market aiming to attract more customers in the African market.

The company has claimed that the new business tablet is aimed at making workload lesser on the users. The tablet is powered by a powerful Intel Atom processor.  The tablet will come with an amazing true-to-life video meeting tool, digital dual array microphone with SRS audio. As for photography, the tablet will come with 8.0 megapixels camera with flash.

Several users of Google's popular email service, Gmail took to the social media to express their anger over their inability to access their email accounts this morning in India.

Many users in India, UAE and other Asian countries say that the service remained down for more than an hour this morning. Several wrote on social micro blogging site that they received 502 error message while trying to access their Gmail accounts in the morning of 2 May, 2013.

UK's technology firm, Datawind has announced that it has successfully completed the Aakash 2 project with the delivery of 1 lakh Aakash low-cost tablets to IIT-Bombay.

The company said in a statement that Akash, which is the world's lowest cost computing access device, has been delivered to the educational institution with a one year warranty on the devices at Rs 2,263. The company also said that the competitive tablets are also available in the open market with a price tag of Rs. 5000.

Tamco Switchgear (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a Malaysia-based subsidiary of engineering and construction company Larsen and Toubro Ltd (L&T), has said that it has received its single larger order yet from the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corp worth $85 million.

The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corp or KAHRAMAA is the sole distributor of water and electricity in Qatar. Under the contract, Tamco Switchgear will manufacture and supply 11kV Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCBs) during a period of two years to distribution stations across the middle-eastern country.

India's apex court, the Supreme Court of India has ruled that the government's decision to allow 51% foreign direct investment in the multi-brand retail sector in the country is constitutional valid.

A bench of Justices R M Lodha, Madan B Lokur and Kurian Joseph heard that the policy would help the eliminate the middlemen and allow the farmers to get a better price of their produce following arguments presented by the attorney general G E Vahanvati on behalf of the government.

India's largest automobile firm, Tata motors has recorded a disappointing 14.8 per cent fall in the number of vehicles sold during the month of April, 2013 compared to the same month of the previous year.

Overall, Tata motors sold 51,160 units in the month of April 2013 including exports to other countries compared to 72,715 units sold by the company in April, 2012. The company was able to sell just 8918 units in the month of April 2013, which is less than half of the 18,610 units sold in the same month of 2012.
