Olive to release India’s first 3G tablet

Olive-ipadOlive has come up with India's first 3G network supporting tablet OlivePad VT-100.

The tablet comes with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, and has Google's Android OS. It is considered to be the first native tablet that comes with 3G support and has all major features.

The OlivePad VT-100 is loaded with 600MHz Qualcomm M7227 chipset and is considered to be India's first 3.5G tablet with HSUPA (High Speed Uplink Packet Access) support. Olive is also comes with loaded 512MB ROM and 512MB RAM that can be upped to 32GB with a memory card. OlivePad will come with quad-band GSM support and at the same time offer a tri-band WCDMA support.

At the rear end a 3 megapixel autofocus camera is present that offers 4x zoom. Other features include compass, G-sensor, ambient light sensor and dual speakers in the tablet.

The OlivePad is aimed to be launched at Croma retail stores in August and is expected be sold below Rs. 25,000.
