Richa finds Madhuri perfect combo of actor-dancer

Richa-ChaddaMumbai, April 23 : Madhuri Dixit is an ideal combination of a good actress and dancer, says Richa Chadda and adds that the Bollywood diva is like a "mirchi".

"Madhuri Dixit is like a 'mirchi'. She can dance and act equally well. So she is very fit to be an actress," said Richa, who made her acting debut in 2008 with Dibakar Baneerjee's "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!"

But Richa grabbed attention after her work in "Gangs Of Wasseypur".

She will next be seen in Farhan Akhtar's home production "Fukrey" and guarantees that it will entertain moviegoers.


Huma delighted to work with Madhuri

Huma-Qureshi-Madhuri-DixitMumbai, April 23 : Once she was a big fan of Madhuri Dixit and now Huma Qureshi is her co-star in "Dedh Ishqiya" and her happiness knows no bounds.

Known for her bold role in "Gangs of Wasseypur", Huma praised her co-star. "Madhuri is so beautiful. I never thought I will be part of 'Dedh Ishqiya'."

"It's a pleasure to be part of such an ensemble cast. I am very excited to work with Madhuri," the actress told IANS.

Director Abhishek Chaubey and "Dedh Ishqiya" team is currently shooting at Mira Road here.


Madhuri wraps 'Gulaab Gang' shoot

Madhuri-DixitNew Delhi, April 22 : Madhuri Dixit has finished the action-packed shooting of Anubhav Sinha's "Gulaab Gang".

"It's a wrap! Pack up on the set of 'Gulaab Gang'! Shooting is done. Can't believe it," she tweeted Monday.

Madhuri, Bollywood's dancing diva, is said to have enjoyed filming the action scenes for the movie, which is said to be inspired by the Gulabi Gang, a real gang of girls headed by social activist Sampat Pal, which raises its voice against atrocities on women.

"Gulaab Gang", directed by Soumik Sen, also features Huma Qureshi and Juhi Chawla.(IANS)


Madhuri, her mother sing for 'Gulaab Gang'

Madhuri-DixitMumbai, April 10 :  Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha managed to convince actress Madhuri Dixit and her mother to sing a song in his upcoming film "Gulab Gang". He says the song has turned out very well.

"When we approached Madhuri to sing a song in the film, she happily agreed to do so. When she came for the recording, she came with her mom and we discovered her mom is a very good singer. So we asked her mom if she could sing a song. Eventually, we got both Madhuri and her mom to sing a song in the film," Sinha told IANS.

He is happy with the outcome.


Madhuri shoots for action sequence

Madhuri-DixitActress Madhuri Dixit, who will soon be seen playing the lead role in "Gulaab Gang", has shot an action sequence for the upcoming film.

The movie is partly inspired by social activist Sampat Pal and the work she and her 'Gulabi Gang' do for women's welfare.

"Had great fun shooting action sequence for 'Gulaab Gang' yesterday. Tiring, but completely challenging and exciting," Madhuri posted on Twitter.

She even said it is currently the most exciting activity for herself.


Madhuri congratulates Birju Maharaj

Madhuri-DixitMumbai, March 21 : Bollywood's dancing diva Madhuri Dixit took to Twitter to congratulate Birju Maharaj for winning a National Award this year.

"Congratulations to Pandit Birju Maharaj-ji for winning the National award. Overjoyed," tweeted Madhuri, who will train under the renowned choreographer for "Dedh Ishqiya".

He had earlier taught the actress, a trained Kathak dancer, steps for the song "Kaahe chhed mohe" from the film "Devdas".

Birju Maharaj won the National Award for best choreography for Kamal Haasan's multilingual spy-thriller "Vishwaroopam".(IANS)


Madhuri happy with 'Dedh Ishqiya' rushes

Madhuri-DixitMumbai, March 16 : Actress Madhuri Dixit, who has been busy working on "Dedh Ishqiya", is at peace after watching the movie's rushes.

"Another day on the set of 'Dedh Ishqiya'. Saw the rushes and they look great," tweeted Madhuri, who has been filming for the movie in and around Lucknow.

The film, directed by Abhishek Chaubey, is a sequel to the commercially successful "Ishqiya".(IANS)


Madhuri's online dance academy to connect to fans

madhuri-dixit40Mumbai, Feb 26 : Madhuri Dixit has launched an online dance academy and the actress says it is her way to get closer to her fans who have always loved her dance.

"The first step was when I made my website and second was when we created the apps. This is my way to get closer to my fans. I wanted to do something for my fans who have always loved me. I wanted to do something for them," the 45-year-old said here at the launch.

The website is called dancewithmadhuridexit. com and Madhuri wants to teach her fans all sorts of dance styles through the site.


Madhuri enjoys snorkeling

/Madhuri-Dixit_Mumbai, Dec 29  : Madhuri Dixit is having a blast on a family holiday abroad. The actress experienced a "different world" when she went snorkeling.

"Snorkeling is great fun... great to see corals and fish... a different world," Madhuri tweeted.

She is on a holiday with husband Sriram Nene and her two children - Arin and Ryan.

Without revealing her location, she had earlier written: "Enjoying some holiday time abroad. Weather is amazing... Nice and sunny, ideal sea side weather; great to be with family. The sea does have a very calming effect on me."(IANS)

Colors acquires 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa', signs MadhuriNew Delhi, Feb 14 - Popular dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa", which aired on entertainment channel Sony since 2006, has now been acquired by Colors, which has already signed up dancing diva Madhuri Dixit as one of the judges for the upcoming season of the celebrity-based show.

The show, inspired by international show "Dancing With The Stars", saw Madhuri on the judges' panel in its fourth season too. But that time, she was busy travelling between India and the US, where her family - her husband, and two kids - was then settled.

Back in Mumbai mid-October: MadhuriNew Delhi, Sep 21 - Dancing diva Madhuri Dixit has confirmed that she will be back in Mumbai with her family for good in mid-October.

The actress, who shifted base to Denver in the US after marrying Shriram Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon 12 years ago, is relocating to India, and looking forward to it.

"Excited! Should be back in Mumbai by middle of October!" Madhuri posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
