New Delhi, Oct 30 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today congratulated Viswanathan Anand on winning the World Chess Championship title in Bonn, Germany after ending the 11th game with Russia''s Vladimir Kramnik in a draw.
In his message, the Prime Minister said that Viswanathan Anand has done the country proud with his exemplary performance at the highest level in his discipline. He has set a stellar example with his dedication and consistency to all sportspersons in the country.
Nanded (Maharashtra) Oct 30 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today said that national unity and integrity is under threat from "divisive" forces and terrorism, which needed to be combated collectively.
Addressing a function at Nanded while participating in Tri-centenary celebrations of Guru Granth Saheb, he said there are forces who want people to fight among themselves.

The occasion is being marked to celebrate the 300 years of declaration of Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of Sikhs, as the perpetual Guru in 1708 by Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th master of Sikhs.
New Delhi, Oct 30: Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will inaugurate a few new facilities of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) here today.
The inauguration will be held from New Delhi through video conferencing link on the occasion of Homi Bhabha birth centenary year.
Dr. Singh will inaugurate two desalination plants - a multi-stage flash evaporation plant located at Kalpakkam in Tamil Nadu and a large mounted desalination plant which is currently stationed in Goa.
