Marseilles (France), Sept 29: The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has said that he is looking forward to his meeting with French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris on Tuesday.
Briefing reporters ahead of his arrival in Marseilles, where he will address the Ninth India-EU Summit, Dr. Singh said: "We have already initialed the framework agreement in civil nuclear matters. It will certainly come up for review and possible signature during my visit."
Marseilles (France), Sept 29: Visiting Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will address the Ninth India-European Union Summit here today, a day before India and France ink a landmark agreement to conduct bilateral nuclear trade with each other.
The two-day Ninth India- EU Summit, hosted by French President Nicolas Sarkozy, opens in Marseilles today.
According to Benita Ferrero-Waldner, the European Commissioner for External Relations and the Neighbourhood Policy, the European Union views India as a vital partner.
Washington, Sep 28 :With the US House of Representatives passing the Indo-US civil nuclear agreement by a clear majority (298-117 votes), Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Sunday said the deal is in the interests of India, the US and the world at large.
Dr. Singh heard the news when he was addressing a reception hosted for him by the Indian community here early this morning.
The prime Minister said he was happy to hear about it and expressed confidence that the deal will complete "the last lap" soon.
New York, Sept. 28 : After days of hoopla and hectic discussions, the US House of Representatives finally approved the Indo-US civil nuclear deal on Saturday. In all, 298 legislators participated in the voting process.
While there was bipartisan support for the Bill, a considerable number of Democrats voted against the Bill moved by party colleague Howard Berman, an opponent of the measure who was persuaded to change his line.

United Nations (New York), Sept. 27: Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday called for the strengthening of international cooperation to combat terrorism, adding that it was "vital" to bring its perpetrators, financiers and sponsors to justice.
