London, November 27 : Mariah Carey has plans to get rid of her assistants at some point of time in future to lead a simple life.

The singer said that she was once advised by a “very famous diva” to do her work on her own.

"A very famous diva once told me, ''Mariah, one day you''re not going to want to have all these people around you,''” the Daily Star quoted her as telling TV chatshow This Morning.

London, Nov 24 - Singer-actress Mariah Carey will be honoured for her acting skills at the 21st Palm Springs International Film Festival in January next year.

Her make-up-free five minute appearance as a social worker in the movie "Precious" was enough to wow award organisers who plan to honour her with their Breakthrough Performance Award, reported contactmusic. com.

She'll be honoured at the Palm Springs Convention Center Jan 5.

Washington, November 24 : Singer Mariah Carey is set to receive the Breakthrough Performance Award for her acting skills.

London, Nov 20 - Mariah Carey, who flew her personal vet from Los Angeles to New York to help her dog deliver puppies, missed the birth because she was not in town at that time.

The 40-year-old brought the animal expert earlier this month to help her pet Jack Russell give birth, but the pooch went into labour when Carey was in London for a series of promotional events. She learned about the puppy delivery in between TV interviews, reports contactmusic. com.

Washington, Nov 19 : Singer Mariah Carey’s plans to celebrate white Christmas at an upcoming London have been thrown into jeopardy by the organisers, it has emerged.

The ‘Santa Baby’ hitmaker is set to switch on the Christmas lights at the U. K. capital''s Westfield Shopping Centre today, and the 40-year-old had vowed to make it a party to remember.

According to the Daily Mail, Carey had requested for 20 white kittens and 100 doves onstage, but the organisers refused to cater to her demands.

Carey, 39, will be welcoming 2010 with a concert, and she is rumoured to to be lining up an array of celebrity pals to join her onstage at the December extravaganza, reports Contactmusic.

Members of Carey’s fanclub will get first option on tickets, which go on sale on November 9.

Singer-actress Mariah Carey has come out in the open about the domestic problems she encountered in her marital life.

She says that she had undergone emotional and mental abuse from Tommy Mottola, during her five year marriage life to him. She was married to the music mogul from 1993 to 1998.

Carey, who is currently doing promotions for her new movie ‘Precious’ where she essays the role of a social worker who tries to help a teenager who has undergone abuses.

New York, Oct 16 : It has emerged that pop diva Mariah Carey has a special name for her husband Nick Cannon.

The pet name was revealed at Cannon’s birthday party at club Bank in Las Vegas, reports the New York Post.

Carey presented him with a cake shaped like deejay turntables and inscribed with the message, “Happy Birthday DJ Sex Fingers -- Love, M. C. C.”

According to a witness, Carey, 39, arrived at One Little West 12th at 1:30 a. m. with her brother and a few bodyguards and was quite out of it.

When she exited her black Maybach, she tripped twice and had to grab hold of one of her guards so she wouldn’t fall, and after she ordered a bottle of champagne but she could barely speak.
