Los Angeles, Nov 13 : Former American boxing legend Mike Tyson, who became the youngest heavyweight world champion at the age of 20, has been arrested on charges of beating up a photographer at the Los Angeles International Airport.

Police confirmed that Tyson has been held on suspicion of battery following a scuffle with a snapper.

The victim says he was hit once and was treated afterwards in hospital for a cut to his forehead.

London, Nov 12 : Boxing legend Mike Tyson, who became the youngest heavyweight world champion at the age of 20, has been detained on suspicion of battery after an alleged altercation with a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport, according to the police.

Tyson’s spokeswoman Tammy Brook said the boxer was travelling with his wife and 10-month-old child on Wednesday afternoon when he was attacked by overly aggressive paparazzi.

The Sun quoted Brook as saying that Tyson acted in self-defence to protect his child.

Tyson is still struggling to come to terms with the loss of his four-year-old daughter Exodus, who was choked to death after getting entangled in a cord of a treadmill in her Phoenix, Arizona home in May this year.

The retired sportsman said that he does not know the full details of the tragedy, and was focusing on his family to keep away from reacting with anger.

Phoenix (Arizona, US), May 27 : Mike Tyson and his ex-wife Sol Xochitl are reportedly in a shattered state after their four-year-old daughter, Exodus, died after getting her neck tangled in an electrical cord Monday.

The New York Post said the former boxing champ and Xochitl, spent yesterday huddled in grief in Phoenix, where the mom lived with the child, Exodus, and a 7-year-old son.

"There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus," Tyson said in a statement.

New York, Feb 13 : Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson is all set to send his memoir for publication, and is leaving no stones unturned to avoid any leaks.

He has made it a point that only five publishers see his book proposal, according to reports.

"It is similar to the way the Kurt Cobain journals were sold, which went for 4 million dollars," the New York Post quoted a source as saying.

"Just eight people were invited down to the Inn on Irving Place to view Kurt''s actual journals and hear his unreleased song.

"The book went on to be a No. 1 best-seller," the source added.

The ex-world heavyweight champ has proposed to the 30-year-old glamour model and the lady in question has not yet given the answer.

The 42-year-old asked the 30-year-old reality TV star to join him in Los Angeles.

The pair dated before and after Aisleyne's 2006 `Big Brother' stint.

While the model hasn't yet said `Yes', she has told friends that she only sees him as a friend.
