Washington, Mar 6 : Oprah Winfrey has decided on a name for her latest pet cocker spaniel-Sadie.

Winfrey and long-time partner Stedman Graham adopted the dog on March 1 at the PAWS shelter on Clybourn.

The talk show queen's beloved cocker spaniel Sophie died last March, and she still owns another dog of that same breed named Solomon.

And now, she has revealed that she's settled on ``Sadie'' as the name for the new canine addition to her household.

Washington, Mar 4: Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has got a new member in her family-a puppy-which she and her long-time beau Stedman Graham have adopted recently.

A representative for PAWS Chicago shelter, Lisa Nowak, has confirmed that the couple took home an eight-week-old blonde-coloured cocker spaniel on March 1.

"(The dog) is really cute. Oprah saw her and fell in love with her! She was very excited," Us magazine quoted Nowak as saying.

Although the shelter staff named the pup-one of a litter of six-Amanda, Nowak has no idea whether Winfrey has renamed her.

London, Feb 4: Media mogul Oprah Winfrey has donated a whopping 1 million pounds to the education system in highly populated New Jersey.

The donation given by Winfrey will be used to fund scholarships and programmes benefiting students in Newark, New Jersey, with 357,145 pounds in grants going to at least three local education and community groups.

The Newark Mayor Cory Booker appreciated Winfrey for her generosity.

Washington, Jan 27 : Oprah Winfrey was "amused" by embattled Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's TV confession that he considered appointing her to President Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat.

While on ABC''s Good Morning America to defend his innocence in connection with accusations he tried to auction off the open Senate seat, Blagojevich said he thought she would be a fitting replacement.

"She seemed to be someone who had helped Barack Obama in a significant way to become President," he said.

Chicago (Illinois, US), Jan. 27 : Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has told ABC''s Good Morning America that he considered offering the Illinois senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama to talk show host Oprah Winfrey.

According to the BBC, he told ABC that Winfrey, one of America''s wealthiest women, would have been unlikely to accept.

"She was obviously someone with a much broader bully pulpit than other senators," he said.
