San Francisco - Sarah Palin has taken the political world by storm since she was named the running mate of Republican presidential candidate John McCain last month. Now comes evidence that she's also sparking record interest in the online world.
According to online tracking firm Hitwise, "Sarah Palin" was the most searched-for political term, accounting for 2 per cent of all political searches in the four weeks ending September 6, the Saturday after the Republican National Convention. At that time, the previously-unknown Palin had been in the national headlines for only eight days.
Washington, September 17 : While U. S. mums-at-homes are drawing inspiration from Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin, feminists do not consider her to be the right candidate.
Anchorage (Alaska), Sept. 17: Sarah Palin’s husband Todd Palin is also referred to as “Alaska’s First Dude”, and in his first major TV interview, he told FOX News that his wife is destined for higher positions.
Todd said that Sarah’s nomination as Republican vice-presidential nominee did not come as a “huge surprise” to him, as he believed her sudden ascent from first-term Alaska governor to history-making vice presidential nominee had always been a “possibility”.
He also talked about snowmobile racing, hockey, fishing, moose hunting and working on the Alaska oil fields.
New York, Sept. 17: Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin will meet with foreign leaders next week at the United Nations, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday
Citing an unnamed strategist with John McCain’s campaign, the paper said that McCain and Palin are expected to visit the U. N. next Tuesday, when President Bush will address the international body.
The meeting with heads of state will come during the annual opening of the U. N.’s General Assembly, the strategist said.

Washington, September 16 : Republican U. S vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin had got a tanning bed installed at her gubernatorial residence in Juneau, Alaska, shortly after she declared May 2007 ‘Skin Cancer Awareness Month’.
The press materials at the time had proclaimed over-exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun and tanning beds overwhelming causes of skin cancer.
