Poll: Clinton, Palin open doors for women

WASHINGTON, Dec. 3  -- Women believe that Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin opened doors for women in public life, a Lifetime Television poll indicates.

The network's Every Woman Counts poll reported Wednesday indicated that most women think Clinton, who sought Democratic presidential nomination, and Palin, the Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential nominee, moved forward the cause of electing women to powerful positions, USA Today reported.

Eighty-six percent of women said Clinton and Palin candidacies were a step forward in electing a female president or vice president, the poll indicated. Ninety-three percent said the candidacies would either "definitely" or "probably" encourage more women to seek elected office.

Keep hands off my Senate seat: Republican Senator to Palin

Sarah PalinWashington, Dec 3 : Alaska’s Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski seems to be gearing up for a possible primary challenge from Sarah Palin in 2010, and advised the Republican Governor of the state to keep her hands off her Senate seat.

In an interview with Politico. com, Murkowski said Palin should think twice before trying to take her Senate seat two years from now.

“I can guarantee it would be a very tough election. If she wants to be president, I don’t think the way to the presidency is a short stop in the United States Senate,” Politico quoted her, as saying.

A Gallup poll of Republican voters released last Friday found Palin atop a field of ten Republicans, including 2008 primary candidates Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee, in a hypothetical 2012 match up.

Conservative body to run ads in praise of Palin

sarah palinNew York, Nov. 25 : Alaska Governor and Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is now being feted by conservatives across the country for inspiring millions of Americans to fight for common sense and conservative principles.

According to CBS, a conservative political action committee will begin running ads in Alaska and on national television this week honoring Palin.

Timed for Thanksgiving, the ads (there are two 60-second versions and two 30-second ones) feature the PAC’s officials thanking Palin for her candidacy.

And, the offers are rated even more than most of the Hollywood stars.

Besides, there also have been offers to host TV shows.

According to an article in the Washington Times, Sarah Palin may have emerged from the campaign politically wounded by questions about her preparedness for higher office, but she has returned to Alaska with an expanded, if unofficial, title: international celebrity.
