New Delhi, Sept 12: Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar today said that the Government plans to create a two million tonne rice reserve on top of the three million tonne wheat emergency reserve created earlier this year.
New Delhi, Sept 12 : Union Minister for Agriculture, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Sharad Pawar will inaugurate a two-day conference on warehousing here today.
The conference is being held to discuss the impact of the Warehousing (Development and Regulation) Act, 2007 on the warehousing scene in the country.
Besides the Central Warehousing Corporation, Food Corporation of India, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and FICCI, a large number of other stakeholders will participate in the conference.
New Delhi, July 30 : The Centre will soon introduce a bill to protect the interests of the consumers in the areas of weights and measures.
Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Sharad Pawar said on Wednesday at the 24th meeting of the Central Consumer Protection Council in New Delhi that the Comprehensive Legal Metrology Bill will replace the present weight and measure act.
“A National Consumer Protection Authority will also be set up to take suo-moto action against the hazardous consumer items and service providers,” the Minister said.
