Elton JohnLondon, April 3 - Singer Elton John, who will exchange wedding vows with partner David Furnish in May, says that they will "celebrate" the law allowing same-sex marriage with their marriage.

John and Furnish entered into a civil partnership back in 2005 but want to make it official now that same-sex marriage is legal in England.

"I'm very proud of my country and I'm very proud of Britain and the laws that we've seen come into existence since we've been together," eonline. com quoted John as saying.

Last week, the Candle in the Wind singer was forced to cancel a performance at the Sheffield Arena in Sheffield, England and was hoping to be up for the concert at Newcastle Metro Radio Arena in England on Oct 24.

However, he had to cancel the show after doctors advised him to rest.

"Elton is bitterly disappointed at missing (his) Red Piano concert in Newcastle, one of his favourite areas to perform," the Daily Star quoted the star’s rep as saying.
