New Delhi, July 10 : Who doesn't know about the Indian film industry, asks Hollywood star Tom Hanks who would like to be part of a Bollywood film and is keen to share screen space with Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan.

"Who doesn't know about the Indian film industry nowadays? If I get an opportunity to venture into such a project, I will seriously think about it. I would love to act in a film with Big B and Abhishek Bachchan," Hanks said in an e-mail interview to IANS from Los Angeles.

Although the actor "hasn't been to India", he has "heard a lot about it".

We are still fresh from the impact of the Oscar winning 2009 film 'The Hurt Locker', which was based on the American war. Now, there is a news that the movie is soon going to have a sequel and 'Turner & Hooch' star Tom Hanks will star in the second movie.

Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, 'The Hurt Locker' was nominated for nine Academy Awards in 2010 and won six among them. The 54-year-old Hanks himself, has won Best Actor Academy Awards twice consecutively. In 1993, he won it for 'Philadelphia' and in 1994, he got it for 'Forrest Gump'.

Tom Hanks, the Hollywood star, who has ventured into quite a few business ventures with business partner Gary Goetzman, who have own a joint business house Playtone, in the entertainment business in the last few years, has now come up with a winning idea to launch a sophisticated internet based animated series titled Electric City.

This animated series, will be a joint venture with the Indian business honcho, Reliance Big Entertainment, which plays a prominent role in media entertainment related business ventures the world over.

London, Oct 2 : Hollywood star Tom Hanks has won the latest round of his legal battle with a construction company he has accused of "shoddy" workmanship.

Hanks and wife Rita Wilson hired contractors Storey Construction to build their Sun Valley, Idaho villa in 2000 but tried to take the firm to a tribunal after discovering faults with the work. The bosses of the construction company refused to attend the hearing, insisting they had already been to arbitration, with a lower court later ratifying their claim.

London, Jun 1 : Actors George Clooney and Tom Hanks have lent their voice to the Screen Actors Guild by urging union members to vote in favour of a new deal with Hollywood's major studios.

The two, along with around 500 other actors, signed a statement on May 29 that "wholeheartedly" recommended that SAG's 120,000 members should vote "yes" on the new labour contract, reports the Daily Star.

It is believed to have more concessions from the studios.

Washington, May 28 : Hollywood star Tom Hanks has hired a new chef to help him stay in shape, after hearing about his friend Robin Williams'' recent heart scare.

Williams took ill on a comedy tour, and had to undergo heart surgery to replace a valve in March.
