Ace Hollywood film producer, Woody Allen, who likes to be close-lipped regarding his flicks before they come out, disclosed that his latest movie will be a passionate comedy set in Paris.

The movie will be named 'Midnight in Paris' and will enlighten the story of a family traveling to Paris for business and a young engaged pair.

According to sources, Woody said that the movie celebrate a young man's great love for the city, and at the same time explores the illusion people have that a life different from their own is better.

According to recent reports, Freida Pinto starrer Woody Allen's "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger" will hit movie theatres on September 23 next.

Freida is said to have finished her shooting for this romantic flick, which also has Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas, Naomi Watts and Josh Brolin.

London, Oct 13 : Brazilian movie bosses are trying to entice Woody Allen with the charms of Rio de Janeiro so that the director films his next flick in the city.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Rio officials are offering a 1.3-million-pound subsidy to the 73-year-old director if he lenses his upcoming movie in the city, reports the Daily Express.

And, Allen is considering the offer seriously - he even sent his sis, Letty Aronson, to Rio check out possible locations for a shoot.

The 73-year-old director, who's in Paris for promoting his new film `Whatever Works', was asked what strong personality he would most like to see star in one of his movies - to which he replied "Without question, Carla Bruni!"

Anupam Kher who celebrated silver jubilee of his entry in the Hindi film industry with a premiere of 'Saraansh', received a message from his international agent that "Woody
(Allen) wants you''.

The well-known international director, who was impressed from Anupam's work, has decided to cast him in his upcoming film to be shot in London later this year.

London, May 19 : Woody Allen has successfully reached a settlement in a gruesome legal battle with clothing giant American Apparel.

Allen, who sued the company for using an image of him from "Manhattan," in which he was dressed up as a rabbi, without his permission on one or two of their billboards, won 5 million dollars in the out-of-court settlement.

Initially, the firm had planned to bring up his personal life in its defence, reports The BBC.

The Oscar-winning film director has dragged clothing firm American Apparel to court for using a still from his 1977 film Annie Hall, in which he is dressed as a Hassidic Jew, without his permission.

He wants at least 10 million dollars from the firm.

London, Apr 10 : American Apparel bosses have asked filmmaker Woody Allen to prove that he can still command a price of 10 million dollars for appearing in commercials.

The ‘Match Point’ director had filed a lawsuit against the clothing giants last year, and claimed that they used his likeness on billboards without his consent.

In the adverts across New York and Los Angeles, he was depicted dressed as a rabbi.

Washington, Mar 04 : Woody Allen’s flick ‘Whatever Works’ is all set to kick-start the Tribeca film festival.

The flick also marks Allen''s return to New York, where he has shot most of his films before making his last four films in the U. K. and Spain, reports Contactmusic.

The Tribeca festival was founded by Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal in 2002 following the 9/11 attacks, in a bid to boost New York as a major filmmaking center and aid in the recovery of lower Manhattan from the attacks.

Washington, Jan 15 : Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz revealed that she was delighted when veteran filmmaker Woody Allen gifted her one of his trademark glasses.

The `Vanilla Sky' actress revealed that she was touched when Allen gave her his glasses as a memento during the filming of `Vicky Cristina Barcelona'.

"Actually I got a souvenir. I got his glasses as a present," Contactmusic quoted Penelope, as telling Brit Total Film magazine.

London, December 30 : Woody Allen and his fellow jazz band members impressed fans in Poland with their first concert in the country.

The clarinettist, also hailed for his reputation as a film director, writer, actor, comedian, and playwright, earned himself a standing ovation from nearly 3,000 fans.

The 73-year-old took to the stage with his New Orleans Jazz Band on December 28 at Warsaw's Sala Kongresowa concert hall.

The Daily Express reported that the `jack of all trades' had told the audience, "We will do our best to entertain you."

Melbourne, Nov 10 : A mark on Woody Allen’s hand drew much more attention than the lesbian-kissing scene on the sets of his film Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

In the film, Penelope Cruz has shared a sizzling on-screen kiss with co-actress Scarlett Johansson in a dark room.

However, while filming the scene, everyone of the sets, including director Allen got distracted—thanks to a suspicious mark that had mysteriously appeared on his hand.

"Everyone''s been talking about this kiss between me and Scarlett, but on the day all the attention was on Woody and the stain on his hand,'''' the Daily Telegraph quoted Cruz as saying.
