Frankfurt - Werder Bremen striker Claudio Pizarro was fined 3,000 euros (3,800 dollars) for unsporting behavior by the German Football Federation's (DFB) disciplinary commission Tuesday over comments he made about a referee.

"We played against 12 men from Bochum. The referee was a catastrophe," Pizarro said in a television interview following his side's 0-0 draw against VfL Bochum on Saturday. (dpa)
