PM hasn’t addressed money hoarded in Swiss accounts: Advani

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Lal Krishna AdvaniNew Delhi, Mar 29 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani on Sunday attacked on the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, claiming that he has not done enough to address the issue of illicit money hoarded in Swiss Bank accounts.

Advani demanded that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government disclose details of the accounts of Indians in Swiss and other foreign banks, estimated at between Rs. 25 lakh and Rs. 70 lakh crore.

The BJP leader has asked the Prime Minister to take up the issue at G-20 summit.

"Black money is an issue in the general election. I had written to PM about issue of Indians holding Swiss Bank accounts. Manmohan Singh should bring up the black money issue at the G-20 Summit," he added.

Advani revealed that the money in Swiss banks included black money, crime money and terror money.

"This money is constituted by corruption, crime and terror," he added.

He claimed that if his party voted to power, he would force Indian citizens to bring back their wealth to India.

"Backwardness in our infrastructure, agriculture and other sector can all be corrected using this money. If the money is brought back to India then villages across the nation can get potable water, schools with Internet facility can be opened in all villages each and every village can be allocated Rs. 4 crore," he added.
