Hindraf unhappy over non-representation in Malay Democratic Action Party

Kuala Lumpur, Aug 25: The Democratic Action Party Malaysia has been on a roll at its 15th triennial national congress, with the re-election of the old guard, unveiling of a multi-million ringgit new party headquarters and little challenge to the leadership as shown in the delegates' debates and polls.

But beneath the jubilation, a ripple of dissatisfaction is being generated by an unlikely source -- Hindraf.

The non-governmental organisation, which became a household name when it held a rally last November, collaborated with the party in the general election.

Islamabad, Aug 25: After winning the September 6 presidential election and assuming Pakistan’s highest post, PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari will not disassociate himself from the party, and instead appoint a steering committee to deal with the day-to-day party affairs.

The committee would be responsible for disposing of crucial matters relating to the party till his son PPP Chairman Bilawal takes over the PPP, reported The News.

Zardari will not quit the office of the PPP after getting elected as the president of the country, added the paper.

Michelle Obama and Jill Biden share some ‘chemistry’

They added that with Obama on one side and Joseph Biden and McCain together on the other, not just on Iraq but on the North American Free Trade Agreement, which Biden voted for, and the 2005 Republican Energy Bill, which Biden and McCain voted against.
