This will be for the first time over 40 years that Queen will not be attending Commonwealth games which are scheduled to be held in India from October 3-14. It is revealed that Prince Charles will be representing the royal family instead of Queen Elizabeth.

Queen Elizabeth would not be able to attend Commonwealth games due to heavy workload. UK based media major, Daily Mail said that Queen is the part of these games since 1966 and this will be the first time she will remain absent from the event.

The Buckingham Palace spokesperson said that Queen will remain busy during this autumn; she has planned her visits to other overseas locations, which means it is correct to say that she will not be attending the event in India. In CWG, various member states participate in different sports. It is a multinational, multisport event in which thousands of sportsmen take part. Commonwealth games are second time held in Asia, choosing India for the first time as the host.
