Publicis Groupe aims to double its size in India by 2014
Publicis Groupe aims to double the size of its business in India by 2014 by investing more money in the growing advertising field of the country, the France-based advertising & marketing company's chairman, Maurice Levy said.
On his visit to India after a gap of around two years, Levy said that the company could grow in India as the Asian market had a lot of untapped potential. Levy's optimism was based on an estimate by the World Bank (WB) that India will have the world's largest middle-class population by 2030.
Speaking to media persons, Levy said, "The Indian market has a lot of untapped potential. This is a market where we can still invest and grow as much as the market is growing. We are doubling the size of our businesses in the emerging markets. The intention is to continue to invest in these markets."
The 71-year-old chairman added that the group aimed to generate 35 per cent of its total turnover from emerging markets by 2017. Currently, emerging markets, including India, contribute roughly 25 per cent to the group's total turnover.
In 2011, the advertising & marketing giant's digital business had just 100 employees. Currently, the group's Indian digital business has a workforce of around 1,500 people.
