Rajasthan polls: BJP releases first list of candidatesThe Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday released a list of 95 candidates for the Rajasthan assembly polls.

But in a surprise move 12 of the sitting MLAs didn’t figure in the list. Names of 24 MLAs repeated for this time also.

The list includes 15 women, 10 candidates from Scheduled Tribes and 19 from the Scheduled Castes.

"The Central Election Committee (CEC) which met here under the leadership of party chief Rajnath Singh has decided candidates for 95 seats. Twelve sitting MLAs have been dropped due to social and political realities and also due to delimitation," said party general secretary Ananth Kumar.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will contest from her old constituency Jhalrapatan. The polls for the 200-seat state assembly are scheduled Dec 4. The next list will be announced on Nov 13.
