Serbia says it wants to break deadlock with Holland over war crimes

Corfu, Greece - Serbia on Saturday said it remained committed to cooperating with the Netherlands in trying to break a deadlock over war crimes and forge closer ties with the European Union.
"I understand that there is no change in the position of Holland. We are committed to working with Holland and all others in the European Union on resolving the issue," said Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, speaking on the sidelines of a meeting of foreign ministers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
Pakistan crushes Holland

Pakistan defeated Holland in a must win match in a pool match of the ICC T20 World at the Lords and qualified for the super eight round.
Pakistan skipper Younis Khan won the toss and elected to bat first against Holland. Pakistan set target of 176 runs in 20 overs with the help of brilliant batting performance of man of the match Kamran Akmal (41) and Misbah-ul-Haq (31 not out).
PM Seelaar took two wickets for Holland against Pakistan and Darren Nannes took one wicket while being economical.
Dutch officials meet with Belgian central bank, government, Fortis
Submitted by Sahil Nagpal on Mon, 09/29/2008 - 03:27.Amsterdam - Dutch Finance Minister Wouter Bos and the president of the Dutch central bank DNB Nout Wellink were in Brussels on Sunday to discuss the future of Belgian-Dutch banking and insurance giant Fortis.
The two were due to give a press conference later Sunday night, Dutch television reported.
On Friday Fortis, which ranks among Europe's top 20 financial institutions, was forced to deny rumours that it was experiencing liquidity problems as its shares took a battering for a fifth day in a row.
Bos and Wellink met with the Belgian government, Fortis management, European Central Bank president Jean Claude Trichet and the European Commissioner for Competition, Neelie Kroes.
Dutch call up Boulahrouz after Babel ruled out
Submitted by Sahil Nagpal on Sun, 06/01/2008 - 06:14.The Hague - Dutch coach Marco van Basten has called up Khalid Boulahrouz for Euro 2008 after the loss of Ryan Babel through injury, De Telegraaf reported Saturday.
The Sevilla defender had been cut from the coach's final squad of 23 for the tournament from June 7 to 29 in Austria and Switzerland.
He has now been nominated as a replacement for Babel, 21, who tore ankle ligaments in training on Saturday. The Dutch football federation said the Liverpool forward would be sidelined for several weeks.
The Dutch, who are in Group C along with France, Italy and Romania at Euro 2008, play a friendly on Sunday against Wales. (dpa)

Wellington, May 28 : When Les Holland's cellphone died last month, rather than getting it sold or exchanged for a new one, this New Zealander decided to give the ‘technological blessing’ a new lease on life - in the form of a ‘fishing lure’!
What began as a practical joke soon got transformed into amazement for the life-long recreational fisherman, when Holland hauled in a 1.2m barracouta about 150m off the Boulder Bank in his 9.75m launch Awatere.
