Corfu, Greece - Serbia on Saturday said it remained committed to cooperating with the Netherlands in trying to break a deadlock over war crimes and forge closer ties with the European Union.

"I understand that there is no change in the position of Holland. We are committed to working with Holland and all others in the European Union on resolving the issue," said Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, speaking on the sidelines of a meeting of foreign ministers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

Amsterdam - Dutch Finance Minister Wouter Bos and the president of the Dutch central bank DNB Nout Wellink were in Brussels on Sunday to discuss the future of Belgian-Dutch banking and insurance giant Fortis.

The two were due to give a press conference later Sunday night, Dutch television reported.

On Friday Fortis, which ranks among Europe's top 20 financial institutions, was forced to deny rumours that it was experiencing liquidity problems as its shares took a battering for a fifth day in a row.

Bos and Wellink met with the Belgian government, Fortis management, European Central Bank president Jean Claude Trichet and the European Commissioner for Competition, Neelie Kroes.

The Hague - Dutch coach Marco van Basten has called up Khalid Boulahrouz for Euro 2008 after the loss of Ryan Babel through injury, De Telegraaf reported Saturday.

The Sevilla defender had been cut from the coach's final squad of 23 for the tournament from June 7 to 29 in Austria and Switzerland.

He has now been nominated as a replacement for Babel, 21, who tore ankle ligaments in training on Saturday. The Dutch football federation said the Liverpool forward would be sidelined for several weeks.
