‘RTI on Wheels’ completes one year of successful functioning

RTI`RTI on Wheels', a state-of-the-art mobile van has completed one year of its successful functioning. It was launched last year by the Gujarat State Information Commission, Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA) and Mahiti Adhikar Gujarat Pahel (MAGP).

`RTI on Wheels' was specifically designed to spread awareness about the Right to Information (RTI) in far-flung areas. The van has various facilities like audio visual aids and internet for organizing video shows and discussions. It also helped people to draft applications, appeals and complaints.

RTI on wheels' has spread among 80,000 people in 450 villages and 13 cities in last one year.

No causalities as bomb blast rocks AssamDispur, Mar 19: A powerful bomb exploded on the railway track between the Diphu and Daldoli Railway Stations in Assam''s Karbi Anglong District at around 1 a. m. on Thursday.

Passengers miraculously escaped unharmed.

The explosion took place five kilometers from Diphu Railway Station, damaging a significant portion of the railway track.

A track inspector from the Lumding Railway Division rushed to the spot and found another bomb planted there.

The bomb squad was summoned to defuse the bomb.

Key allies still hopeful of bringing Congress around

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president and Railway Minister Lalu Yadav, a key player in Bihar, underplayed the rift with the Congress.

"Less seats given, more seats given, internal differences, all these are immaterial. The UPA will form the Central Government. We have nothing to do with the Third Front.
