Maoists blast tracks in BiharGaya (Bihar), Mar 21: The Communist Party of India-Maoist rebels bombed railway tracks in Bihar''s Gaya District disrupting train services on the Gaya-Mughalsarai section of East Central Railway (ECR) on Saturday.

The Maoists blasted the down track between Paraiya and Guraru stations just past midnight. The tracks at a length of about four feet have been completely damaged.

During inspection, a live bomb was found planted on the tracks near the blast spot. The bomb squad was summoned to defuse the bomb.

For nearly 3 months during the last year, the E-mail system of the Indian Prime Minster's Office (PMO) remained affected by a computer virus.

It is learnt that the PMO e-mail communication system was affected by the technical error caused by the Microsoft Outlook Express between February and April 2008.

The PMO maintained that many e-mails forwarded to the office didn't reach the inbox. The authorities were able to find out the problem only in the month of April.

Terrorism must be dealt with firm determination: PresidentChennai, Mar 21: President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil said on Saturday that terrorism poses a great threat to global peace and should be dealt with firm determination.

Speaking at the passing out parade at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai this morning, Patil said that India has been a victim of terrorist attacks and modern warfare must necessarily incorporate measures to counter terrorism activities in the country.

Patil agreed on the need of latest technological advancements in arms and weapons.

The other project sites put on a terror alert includes the Chamera hydel project stage I and II in Chamba District, 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakhri Project, Pong Dam and Pandoh Dam in Mandi District.
