London, October 5 : A couple weighing 38 stone altogether was asked to move by the stewardess because they were ‘too heavy for the plane to take off’.

Alan Coupe and wife Jane, who were on their way to Guernsey for a week’s vacation with their son Chris, were asked to change their seats while the plane was still stationed at the runway.

Coupe, who was 20 stone, shifted to the front of the plane to maintain an even-spread of the weight, following which the plane took off.

London, October 5 : A cheeky parrot has been put for sale after his owner got fed up of him – because he keeps saying “w*****” to her pals.

Despite her many efforts to teach the bird dozen other words, Kate Lenihan has decided to sell Charlie the African Grey.

The 31-year-old owner, who bought Charlie as a chick last year, has given up on the bird who wolf-whistles at women, eats chicken tikka masala and nods along to gangster rap.

The mum-of-three, of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, is selling him for 625 pounds because all he says is “w*****” or his favourite, “chav chav w*** w***”.

“It’s embarrassing with friends,” the Sun quoted Kate as saying.

"Crowdsourced" websites like YouTube and Wikipedia'' success have been a puzzle for psychologists for a long time - as a small number of people do most of the work for little obvious reward 
- while the rest benefit seemingly without giving anything back.

One commonly held notion for that is people just feel good helping out the community, reports New Scientist.

However, now researchers at Hewlett-Packard''s lab in Palo Alto, California, have shown that contributors are in it for personal glory, not public service.

London, Oct.4: Peter Mandelson has described his return to the British Cabinet "great challenge and a great opportunity".

Speaking outside Downing Street, Mandelson said his comeback was "third time lucky", in apparent reference to his two previous spells as a Minister. He was forced out of Government under controversial circumstances in 1998 and 2001.

He added that while he and Gordon Brown had had their "ups and downs" in the past, they now "worked very well together".

Quantum cryptography has been used by some banks to protect data, and even to hide election results in Switzerland last year.

But, according to a report in New Scientist, it has been discovered that shining bright light into the sensitive equipment needed makes it possible to possible to intercept messages without detection.

London, October 4: Friends of air-adventurer Steve Fossett have paid tribute to the aviator for his ‘adventure spirit’ after police officials revealed that they had discovered human remains in his wrecked plane.

The 63-year-old millionaire had mysteriously disappeared after taking off from his private airstrip in Nevada last September and was legally declared dead in February this year.
