Rawalpindi, Apr. 7 : Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff General, Ashfaq Kayani, has said, the army is fully capable of meeting all "internal and external threats" facing the country.
"The army is and will remain fully prepared to meet the current and emerging internal and external threats, with the full support of the nation," he said while addressing the 63rd Formation Commanders Conference at the army's General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
Islamabad, Apr. 7: The US Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, has claimed that the Taliban’s top leadership is hiding in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
During a dinner at US Ambassador Anne Patterson’s residence in Islamabad, Admiral Mullen told reporters that the US was targeting Baitullah Mehsud now because he had established strategic links with Al Qaeda.
In affiliation with Al Qaeda, Mehsud facilitated many attacks on NATO forces in Afghanistan during the past year or so, the Daily Times quoted him, as saying.

Supreme Court Registrar Dr Faqir Hussain returned the petition with four major objections.
Islamabad, Apr. 7 : Three female NGO workers of a USAID-funded project along with their driver were reportedly killed by some unidentified gunmen in the North West Frontier Province's Manshera District.
All three women associated with a non-government organization, Rise International, were on their way to Mansehra from a mountainous area of Kund Bangla when some unknown assailants attacked them, killing them on the spot, The News reported.
According to revelations by Sarfaraz Nawaz, an arrested Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) operative, the Pakistan-based militant group intends targeting senior scientists and engineers of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), planning to either kidnap or assassinate them. The revelations from Nawaz came during his interrogation by the Karnataka police about the Bangalore blasts of July 25, 2008.
